CDS exam eligibility

The official notification of CDS UPSC (Combined Services to Defense) I (2017) review has been posted on the official website www.upsc.gov.in. The UPSC conducts the examination twice a year to recruit candidates for the Indian Military Academy (AMI), Academy Officer Training (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and the Academy Of the Air Force India.

Eligibility criteria

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

 

IMA and OTS: Interested persons must hold a degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

INA: Interested persons must have an engineering degree from a recognized university / institution.

For Air Force Academy: Interested persons must hold a degree from a recognized university (with physics and mathematics at 10 plus 2 levels) or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Those who study the year / last semester and have not yet passed the final exam grade may also apply, provided they have no delay in progress until the last semester / year for which the results have been declared up to the last semester / Of the application.

Selection process:

Candidates who are successful in the written exam will be detailed for the intelligence and personality test in the service selection committee based on their preference for the service concerned.

In the SSB, candidates are selected on the basis of the following two phases:

Psychological Aptitude Test
Intelligence test

Applicants are required to have the minimum qualification scores examined separately (i) in writing and (ii) SSB testing as defined by the Commission and SSB, respectively, at their discretion.

Important date:

The deadline for filing the online application date is December 2.

 

Candidates are eligible for the OTA (Official Training Academy, Chennai) only
Those who join the first three institutes obtain permanent commission. Cadets who pass from the Officers Training Academy earn a short service commission. Applicants should mention their preferences while completing the application forms

Eligibility

 

(One Nationality:
A candidate must be:
1. a citizen of India, or
2. a subject of Bhutan, or
3. a theme for Nepal, or
4. a Tibetan refugee who moved to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of establishing himself permanently in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has emigrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of establishing himself permanently in the country. India.

Academic preparation:

For IMA / OTA: A recognized university degree or equivalent.

For Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering.

Years:

For IMA: single candidates between the ages of 19 and 24 are eligible on 1 January or 1 July of the year following the year of examination, ie born before 2 January 1994 and no later than 1 January 1999.
